Current Research Students
Julia Fleiner (Ph.D. Candidate): Julia is working on projects to quantify the impacts of soil salinization on soil carbon storage, sequestration, and green house gas emissions from coastal farm fields.
Bailey Parrish (M.S. Candidate): Bailey is working on a project to quantify specific geomorphic controls on soil blue carbon storage in tidal marsh systems in North Carolina.
Tanzila Ahmed (Ph.D. Candidate): Tanzila is working on a project to quantify changes in soil health and carbon storage through organic agriculture in the Coastal Plain region of North Carolina.
Reuben Wilson (M.S. Candidate): Reuben is working on projects to quantify soil carbon changes due to sea level rise and Histosol submergence.
Lori Gorczynski (M.S. Candidate): Lori is working on a project quantifying the effects of salt water intrusion on coastal soil blue carbon stocks, specifically in Histosols.
Curtis Murphy (Undergraduate): Curtis is supporting multiple projects above both in the field and laboratory in 2021-2022.
